1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.

2. Eligibility

There is no specific age limit to use our website, but we recommend that users under the age of 18 use the site with parental guidance. By listing a business, you affirm that your business complies with all UK legal requirements.

3. User Content and Listings

All content submitted to the website by users, including Business Listings and paid Adverts, must meet the following standards:

Accurate Information: All information provided in the listing must be accurate and up-to-date.
Clear Photos: Images must be clear and accurately represent the business.
Legal Compliance: Only businesses that are legally registered in the UK and comply with UK laws are permitted to be listed.

We reserve the right to remove any listings that do not meet these standards or violate our terms.

4. Prohibited Activities

Users and businesses must not:

Post false or misleading information, including false advertising.
List illegal businesses or activities prohibited by UK law.
Engage in spamming or other disruptive activities.
Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or rights of others.

Any listing that violates these rules or our Terms and Conditions will be removed. Users who repeatedly submit such listings will be banned from using our platform.

5. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with a business or another user, please contact us... We will work to resolve internal issues promptly.

However, we are not responsible for any disputes

(i) between users and businesses listed on the platform, or
(ii) concerning the effectiveness, performance, or results of any paid Advert.

6. Liability Disclaimer and Indemnity

While we make efforts to maintain the accuracy of our listings, we are not responsible for the accuracy of the information provided by businesses or the services they offer. Users are fully responsible for any information they provide for their listings.

We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of our website, including but not limited to the use or reliance on information or services listed on the platform.

Advertising Performance: We do not guarantee the placement, reach, views, or performance of any paid Advert. Adverts are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Turk List Business Directory... from and against any claims, damages, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from

(i) your violation of these Terms, or
(ii) any Advert you submit, including any claim related to content infringement or false advertising.

7. Account and Password Security

When you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

8. Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. All changes will be posted on this page, and the updated date will be reflected at the top. Your continued use of the website after such changes signifies your acceptance of the modified Terms.

9. Refunds

For details regarding refunds for both directory listings and paid advertising services, please refer to our Refund Policy.

10. Advertising Rules

In addition to the Prohibited Activities listed in Section 4, the following rules apply to all paid advertisements ("Adverts") on Turk List:

10.1 Prohibited Content Categories

You must not submit any Advert that promotes or relates to the following products, services, or activities:

Illicit and Controlled Substances: Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, prescription-only medicines, or the misuse of legal drugs.
Alcoholic Beverages: Any product or service related to alcohol.
Gambling and Betting: Any form of online or physical gambling, lotteries, or betting services.
Sexual Content: Explicit content, adult services, non-medically approved sexual health products, or anything of a pornographic nature.
Tobacco and Nicotine: Tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vaping liquids, or related paraphernalia.
Weapons and Violence: Firearms, ammunition, offensive weapons, or content that promotes violence, self-harm, or discrimination.
Unregulated Finance: Get-rich-quick schemes, pyramid promotional schemes, or financial services and investments not authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Aggressive Health Claims: Misleading or unsubstantiated health, medical, or dietary claims, or advertisements for unproven "miracle" cures.
Illegal Activities: Any product, service, or activity that is illegal or prohibited under UK law and regulations.
Counterfeit Goods: Products that are fakes, "replicas," or "knock-offs" of trademarked goods, or services that facilitate the sale of such goods.
Discrimination and Hate Speech: Content that incites hatred or promotes discrimination against protected characteristics (including race, religion, gender, disability, or sexual orientation) as defined by the UK Equality Act 2010.
Political and Advocacy Advertising: Content of a political nature, including lobbying, election campaigning, or sensitive social issues designed to influence public opinion, without prior written authorization from Turk List.
Malware and Deceptive Software: Adverts linking to sites containing spyware, malware, phishing attempts, "scareware," or any software that performs actions without the user’s explicit consent.
Data Harvesting: Adverts whose primary purpose is to collect personal information under false pretences or in violation of the UK GDPR.

10.2 Campaign Period & Minimums

Minimum Period: The minimum duration for any campaign is 1 week.
Continuous Expiry: Once an Advert is live, the campaign period runs continuously. Pausing an advertisement does not pause the timer. Your advertisement will expire at the originally selected end time regardless of its "Paused" or "Active" status.

10.3 Edits and Recalculations

Turk List allows you to edit your Adverts subject to the following "Smart Logic" rules:

Recalculation: If you change placements or duration, the system will calculate the value of your remaining time ("Current Credit") and compare it to the cost of your new selection.
Underpayment: If the new selection costs more than your current credit, you must pay the difference via Stripe to submit the changes.
Overpayment (Credits): If the new selection costs less than your current credit, the difference will be added to your User Credit Balance.
Review Status: Any edited Advert will immediately revert to "Pending Review" and be hidden from the site until re-approved by Turk List administration.

10.4 Cancellations and User Credits

Cancellation: You may cancel an Advert before its scheduled end time.
Remaining Balance: Upon cancellation, the monetary value of the remaining unused time will be calculated and issued to your account as a User Credit.
Credit Expiry: All issued credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Any unused credits will automatically expire and be removed from your account after this period. No cash refunds are provided for credits.

10.5 Right to Refuse

Turk List reserves the absolute right to refuse or remove any Advert that violates these terms or poses a risk to our community. If an Advert is rejected during the review phase, you will be notified to either adjust the content or receive a credit to your account.

11. Newsletter Communications

11.1 Automatic Subscription

By creating an account with Turk List, you automatically consent to be subscribed to our newsletter communications. This includes updates about:

New business listings and directory updates
Platform news and feature announcements
Industry insights and market trends
Special offers and promotional content

11.2 Subscription Management

You have full control over your newsletter preferences:

Opt-out Options: You can unsubscribe from specific newsletter categories or all communications at any time
Dashboard Management: Access and manage your newsletter preferences through your user dashboard
Email Unsubscribe: Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link for immediate opt-out
No Penalty: Unsubscribing from newsletters does not affect your account status or access to platform features
