Your driving license could be cancelled instantly!

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in the UK has issued an important warning to drivers. The agency announced that a mistake that may seem simple could lead to the immediate cancellation of drivers' licenses.

The DVLA stated that drivers must report not only changes of address, name, or gender, but also medical conditions affecting vision or visual field. Conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, or double vision legally obligate the driver to inform the agency.

Traffic Police Sergeant Owen, who runs the TikTok account 'George's Car Media', used the expressions: "Urgent warning for everyone with a driving license. If you drive in the UK, you need to know this."

Sergeant Owen stated that drivers who wear glasses or contact lenses, or even those with no vision problems at all, must be able to read a vehicle license plate from a distance of 20 meters.

Showing the distance with a measuring tape in his hand, Owen offered a practical method to drivers, saying, "You don't necessarily need a measuring tape to measure 20 meters; you can also measure it with large steps."

LICENSE CAN BE CANCELLED INSTANTLY

Owen warned, stating that drivers should have their vision regularly checked by an optician or eye doctor:

"If you have an accident, or if the police stop you and suspect a problem with your vision, a vision test can be conducted at the roadside. If you fail the test, your license can be cancelled instantly by the DVLA under the Cassie Law."
