London's top schools for the year 2026 have been announced. The rankings, published by The Times, are considered one of the most reliable school lists across England.
In the state secondary school category, Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet topped the London list, winning both the "State Secondary School of the Year" and "Academic Excellence" awards. It was followed by St Olave's Grammar School and Tiffin Girls' School. The boroughs of Wallington and Kingston were also strongly represented on the list, with numerous high-achieving schools.
Among comprehensive state schools, the West London Free School ranked first in London, with JFS in Harrow in second place and Camden School for Girls in third.
In the independent (private) school category, St Paul's School in West London was named "Independent Secondary School of the Year." It was followed by North London Collegiate School and Godolphin & Latymer.
In the primary school rankings, Thomas Jones Primary School in Kensington & Chelsea came first in London, with Hampden Gurney CofE Primary in Westminster ranking second.
According to experts, despite financial challenges, teachers' innovative educational methods continue to keep London's academic success strong.
