The shortlist for the prestigious 14th British Kebab Awards has been officially announced, shining a spotlight on the exceptional Turkish and Mediterranean culinary talent across London. Often referred to as the "Kebab Oscars," these awards celebrate the multi-billion pound industry's contribution to the UK’s economy and its rich cultural fabric.

Several beloved community institutions in North and South London have been recognized for their dedication to quality, service, and traditional charcoal-grilled flavors.

The capital’s Turkish community has once again proven its dominance in the industry, with numerous finalists across various categories.

In North and West London:

• Gokyuzu (Haringey): A legendary name on Green Lanes in Haringey, known for its vast platters and authentic Anatolian taste.

• Hala Restaurant (Haringey): Another Green Lanes staple recognized for its home-cooked feel and traditional mezes.

• Enfes Ocakbasi (Haringey): Bringing the heat with its expertly grilled meats on the Harringay Ladder.

• Cengo Ocakbasi (Enfield): A favorite for residents in Enfield, making the shortlist for its consistent excellence.

Founded by entrepreneur Ibrahim Dogus, the awards highlight the "passion, creativity, and resilience" of the people behind the counters. "These finalists inspire us with their dedication to excellence and their vital role in bringing communities together," Dogus stated.
