The Turkish Student Union in the United Kingdom (TUSU) in London has launched an 18-week free "Academic Writing and Advanced Research" program as part of its 2025–2026 Academic Events Series. The first week of the course, delivered by an experienced professor from the University of London, took place with intense participation at TUSU's headquarters in London. The program aims to equip Turkish Master's and PhD level students with competence in academic writing, research methods, data analysis, publication processes, and applying for research grants.
The course, which is completely free, is open to TUSU members and all students conducting academic research. In the first session, the fundamental techniques of academic writing were covered, with students stating that the training provided significant benefits for them. The second week of the program will be held on November 24th and will focus on the ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence in academic work.
TUSU Founding President Hüseyin Duran summarized the program's goals with the words, "Empowering Turkish students in the United Kingdom both academically and culturally." Having been active since 2014, TUSU aims to increase solidarity among Turkish students in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Registration is mandatory for participation, and applications can be made via a QR code and TUSU's social media accounts.
